Finding Non-Conformance in Building Drainage & Sanitation Work

Building drainage and sanitation work is in progress but the work is not according to customer specification in some places. See attached picture’s, following Non-Conformity were observed in Building drainage and sanitation work. 

1. Sleeve provided at structural element should be of same material.



2. Pipe joints shall not be made within the thickness of walls.


3. Pipe joints shall not be made within the thickness of walls.



4. Where pipes pass through elements of the building structure they shall in all cases be enclosed


concentrically within purpose made sleeves cut from pipe of the same material.


And at the footnote

Further to that a NCR closeout report is required and inspection request for the completed work to be raised for engineer’s approval at the earliest to avoid customer complain.

At Tajin GrillHouse, Radisson blu, Muscat

Me and my wife went for a dinner to Al Tajin Grill House at Radisson blu, Al Khuwair, Muscat
they are having 6 diffrent bar & resturant their but as I seen some good reviews of Al Tajin
we choose Al Tajin Grill House. We like the interior, sitting area is not big though but pretty cool a middle eastern themed interior for a perfect fine dine experince and we did love the
ambient music in the background.

The Starter buffet was free with Main Course,  lots of stuff to choose.

Al Tajin grill is basicaly a seafood resturant, my wife ordered a Fisherman Platter (24 OMR) it was a large portion with grilled lobster, prawns, fish and vegetables she enjoyed it gave it a 5 star, As i dont like seafood I had only 1 dish with chicken so i didn’t had option but was quite great I loved it…

Making of Concrete Cover Block or Spacer Blocks

Concrete spacer blocks or cover blocks are used to give cover to reinforced bars or mesh in both horizontal and vertical applications. Their strength is equal to the surrounding concrete and has the same expansion characteristics as concrete, therefore eliminating potential weaknesses. 

1. Apply shutter oil in cover block form.

There are several ways we can make them in-house, ready to use spacer blocks also available in the market.

Easter

Our first Easter in Muscat… My wife color all those eggs with onion skin.
Check out how we make it.

You Will Need

Organic white eggs (1 dozen)

Skins of red onions

2 tsp white vinegar

  1. Collect as many Red onion skins you can.
  2. Soak the onion skins in cold water with the vinegar overnight. After soaking bring the onion skins to a boil and simmer for about 30 minutes and allow to cool.
  3. Soak the eggs in salt water for 30 min then hard boil the eggs.
  4. Add the eggs to the onion skin water and boil for 20 minutes.
  5. Allow cooling then pat the eggs dry with a paper towel.
    And we are ready for Easter.

Me and my wife  went to Q’BA tonight, we didn’t had any booking but luckily we got one table and that too in no time, I liked the interior, it has a pleasant, soothing ambiance perfect for a Romantic dinner. One small water fountain was also near to our table the burble of the miniature waterfall was relaxing.
 
 
 

We ordered Greek Salad, Dry Chilly Chicken with pepper & Salt, was perfect blend of taste with Mojito and in main course we had yummy Grilled Chicken Breast .

Definitely this Q’BA is going to my list of favorite restaurant.

Sun Temple…

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, The Konark is a part of the Golden Triangle of Odisha along with Bhubaneshwar and Puri. This was my second trip to The Konark and the first time for my wife & she loved the place, its a must see place for history & heritage lovers just stay away of the pandas (priests). 

This is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, The present condition is not so good. The upper portion of the main structure is destroyed and rest of the temple is supported by iron bracing.

World Heritage Site 
Construction 13th century
Best time to visit is between Oct to Feb.
Opening time 6am to 8pm
