Mayfair Lagoon Bhubaneswer.

At Mayfair Lagoon Bhubaneswer.
One of the best hotel to stay in Bhubaneswar. A five-star property is beautifully done upon the theme of Mother Nature. The buffet spread is also good with lots of vegetarian options available. Situated in the heart of the city it is easily accessible from Airport.

From Bhubaneswar

Mayfair Mamma mia got the best bakery in Bhubaneswar, An Italian & Mexican Outlet.

Mamma Mia is a chic Mexican and Italian cafe with an adjoining bakery selling delightful cakes and pastries. The main cafe space has an interesting see-through live kitchen. This is the place to come for your fill of wood-fired thin crust pizzas, decadent pasta dishes, savory crispy nachos, tiramisu, fruit pastry.

Check-In to Swosti Plaza Bhubaneswer.

Well to our luck Ginger Bhubaneswar was full so we went to Swosti, if I compare with our previous stay in Ginger Bhubaneswar Swosti is nice from the outside looks great, even the lobby is good, but the moment you step in, you are a bit disappointed with the price you are paying!

The rooms seem tired and need a lot to be worked upon, The rooms are poor in ventilation. After using washroom you will fill the room humid and smelly.

From Bhubaneswar

The room was ok but with that price, I will say not worth the money, poor maintenance.

From Bhubaneswar

With my wife waiting for the cab at Swosti Plaza lobby..

Wouldn’t have complained much, but for the “premium” tag or for the pricing, I would like the rooms to be a bit more better.

Price for food seems good and items on the menu too look great but I will suggest please stay with Indian foods, continental are with a touch of Indian spices…

Anyway after a long journey we got a great sleep and morning view from window was beautiful.

Lovely Morning View from Swosti

Finding Non-Conformance in Plastering Inspection

As a QC Engineer during  Plastering inspection, I did observe following points that I will escalate to site team for their quick action and to achieve the required degree of quality.
1. Lighting arrangement is not proper resulting poor visibility.
2. Marked profile not to line & plumb in some places.
3. Key coat provided above false ceiling level where C-8 paint to come.
4. BRC key coat to be provided over concrete & on mesh at concrete to the block-wall joint.
5. Cement and comix bags to be kept in dry place.
6. Concrete surface are left unattended for applying BRC key coat, for a proper curing on the key coat
it’s better not to discontinue the key coat, both type of key coat (Cement: Sand on block work and BRC on
concrete face)  to be completed same day for proper curing and to avoid delay in work.
7. Lighting arrangement is not proper, Plastering is a finished item without proper lighting its a simple no for
    inspection to the site team.
8. Profile not in Plumb,
9. Profile not in line.
10. Sand cement key coat applied over the concrete surface and key coat applied over the suspended ceiling.
11. Sand Cement key coat provided at concrete to block wall junction.

Concrete at Cavity Wall

Cavity wall insulation is used to reduce heat loss through a cavity wall by filling the airspace with a porous material. This immobilizes the air within the cavity (Air is still the actual insulator) thus cavity shall be kept clear of concrete or mortar dropping.Polyethylene sheet can be used as a separation layer.

Al Bustan beach, Muscat

Some beautiful views of Al Bustan beach from my site photos are taken from a different elevation from mean sea level. Located in the Governorate of Muscat Tucked between the Al Hajar mountain range and the Sea of Oman, Al Bustan Palace A Ritz-Carlton Hotel sprawls over the beach and overlooks the mountains that intertwine with the hotel’s sands and beaches. These mountains lend the beach an unsurpassed sense of privacy.
This beach is meant for couples who want to lose themselves in the atmosphere and are seeking relief from large beaches. But the beach is only accessible to Ritz-Carlton Hotel guests

Block Work

As a QC engineer during the site visit following Non-Conformance observed in block work and issued to the site team now site team need to close out the nonconformance’s prior to further work at the locations.

Which involves the physical rectification of block-wall along with document confirming that a training has been provided to the masons and the same issue will not be repeated in future.

When multiple minors NCR issued for the same issue then this can be considered a “systemic failure.” it will affect the reputation of the subcontractor which can terminate their contract with us.

1. Cavity wall tie not provided as per specification

2. Joints are not uniform and are not properly filled.

3. Scrabbling not done properly at the column.
