Sometimes it becomes necessary to hide who you follow, from a specific person or from all users of a social network. Many are interested in whether there is a built-in function in Instagram that allows you to carry out this action.
Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t have any function like that yet to hide your followers from others. Also, there is no such third party app available through which you can hide your followers on Instagram. But still, there are some ways around to hide who you follow. Solution#1 Hide who you follow on Instagram from a specific person.
If you need to prohibit viewing to a specific Instagram user, you can use the Instagram Block function.
But before starting with the block function remember that adding to the block list not only hides your Instagram follow list from that person but also completely prohibits access to your page. A person will not be able to see posts and stories, like, leave comments or write in Direct message. Be sure to consider this when deciding whether to block a person, especially if its a friend or family member.
How to block an Instagram user:
- Open his page;
- Tap on the ellipsis located at the top right corner of the screen.
- Choose the option “Block”;
- Tap on Block.
After performing these steps, a person will not be able to visit your profile or find it in the search. Note that no notifications about blocking the page will be sent by Instagram.
Solution#2 Hide who you follow on Instagram from everyone.
Sometimes there are situations when it is necessary to make the list of followers completely private. So here’s the second option changing the status of your personal page to “Private”. You can control the visibility of your Instagram profile by setting your profile as ‘Private’. By settings, your account ‘Private’, your post and full profile details will only be visible to your approved followers. So no outsider can view who you follow on Instagram note this will work only if you have a personal account.
How to make an Instagram profile private:
- Go to your profile page.
- Tap on the ellipsis located at the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on “Privacy”
- Tap on “Account Privacy”;
- Toggle the button to the active position.
- Confirm.
After making your account “private”, unapproved visitors will not be able to see the profiles you are following, but the number, of followers and following, will be visible to them.

Solution#3 Hide who you follow on Instagram.
Since Instagram has multiple account options, I will recommend that you operate one account as a private account. When you add multiple Instagram accounts, you can switch between them without having to log out and log back in.
How to setup multiple Instagram accounts:
- Go to your profile page.
- Tap on the ellipsis located at the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap on Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Add Account.
- Enter the username and password of the account you’d like to add.
To switch between accounts you’ve added:
- Go to your profile.
- Tap your username at the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap the account you’d like to switch to.
